Whew, yesterday's day of travel, and today has worn us all out! But wow, we really like it here. Mom didn't get ANY sleep preparing to leave Sunday night. Everyone else, besides Stephanie who chose to only recieve one hour of precious sleep, went to bed around 1am, and woke up three hours later. We did end up needing to check in two bags, But God was good, and they all made it on each of our three flights. Our first one was like any other flight you go on, since English was the spoken language. In Houston there was more Spanish as we flew our way over to San Pedro Sula,Honduras. There we had passport checks and other immigration procedures. Again, God blessed us and answered the prayers you've all prayed for us, and the lady who had been going through everyone's bags, looked at us, asked if we were all Mom's, then said we could go... that was nice :D We could tell we were out of the United States by then. One reason being that we were surrounded with such beautiful green mountains, another being that we couldn't understand most of the people around us, and the last reason was that the airport wasn't exactly like ours as far as security and cleanliness. We had Wendy's at the airport, last bit of 'fast' food (if you can call an hour wait 'fast')and chocolate frosties for a while. Our last flight was on a much smaller (18 seats), and cuter plane. This one took us to our final destination- Utila. I couldn't break my record of going all day through security devices without making one go off... but it was quickly resolved, with no hassel. I couldn't believe I was over such beautiful water as we came in. Walking out of the plane, we all stood gazing around us, totally amazed at where we were. A man's van soon became our Taxi as we six and another man, got our ride to the main street. Our eyes darted back and forth quickly absorbing all of the new sites. " Mom, what kind of bird is that?" " Did you see how close we got to that person?" Whoa, look at this place!" As soon as we unloaded our things, all of us girls stood outside Rubi's Inn with our lugage as Erin and Mom went to find us a place for the night. The languege school let us drop our lugage there as we drove around in a golf cart with Mrs. Rita as she showed us some appartments. The only one she had available in July was out of the budget, so after eating some cold hot dogs and tortillas, we stayed the night at Rubi's Inn. Sadly, our bottle of shampoo had opened in flight and emptied ALL over one of our bags and it's contents. Stephanie cleaned most off for us. Malaria pills were the last task on our list, those like Stephanie and Mom who have been blessed with the ability to swallow pills didn't find this task too difficult, Bonnie, Andi and I, on the other hand, are not as blessed. I did get the first one down with no trouble... but I ended up chewing the second. And, no, Hambrickks, we didn't video it! I believe Andi and Bonnie both had to chew theirs. We were so so so tired! At 7 we all woke up,well, I did, those who got up before me... I don't know about, it was an hour after I had set our alarm, we quickly tried to pack up, brushed our teeth with the rest of the water we had bought the day before, then Bonnie and I took some luggage and headed to school. I wasn't quite sure why our teachers were still cooking since our class started at 8, and by my time it was 20 after... until I noticed that the Spanish news we had been watching had a clock which read: 7:21... that explained a lot. We had heard that Utila was an hour ahead of us... but in reality, they're an hour behind.... I think :p So that was nice, we went back and got to have our morning family devotion outside, then arrive on time for school. We have two teachers: Dianna ( pronounced Deanna ) and Alma. Mom and Stephanie are with Dianna. Those four hours were amazing! They cannot speak English, and we cannot speak Spanish, so although I caught a lot of the stuff they were teaching, there were times we looked at each other after trying to get some point across and just smiled, and laughed a bit. Mom did miss the last two hours of school as she found us a place to stay. But we now have a home. Nothing fancy at all... but nothing too torn up either :D Erin came and had lunch with us, again tortillas and cold hot dogs, then she went back to Dive School, and we walked the main road. Stopping into stores we would ask, "Quanto?" then quiclky do the math to find how much US dollars we would be spending. We made our way down to the free beach, we all wanted to get in... but none of us had swim attire on, so we made our way back, and on our way we purchased tonights supper, and breakfast for tomorrow. We will have a REAL meal :D Johnny's Water delivered our five gallons of puriefied water, and we have begun to settle into our home for at least this month. We are about to clean our home, then prepare eat rice, beans, and tortillas, warm food at last :D I guess I shouldn't make this post any longer... so I'll try to put some pics up now :D (Amanda)
..... well, the picture link isn't working... spell check isn't either as I'm sure you can tell :p So I'll have to put pics up later!

hey!
I know most of you probably don't know me, but I felt led to pray for your bags on Monday. I don't know why.
I'm so glad that God answered though!
God bless you all!
(or y'all as Amanda would say :P)

Amanda--did you write the "We love Utilia"? (when you mentioned the Malaria pills you said "mom and I...and...then Bonnie, Stephanie and Andie not being able to swallow pills)--so, I did a little deduction process and I think I got it. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed your story and felt like I was right there. This is all so exciting to see how the Lord is working---getting your luggage there, finding you a place, etc.
I'll be anxious to hear about the church you went to tonight---wasn't it the Baptist?
Can't wait to see pictures.
Love you and send hugs and prayers,
Aunt Becky and Uncle Ed
I am so glad you made it safely. I was frequently praying for you as Kristin and I drove from LA to Colorado this week. Kept thinking-I wonder what the Mills are doing now.
Glad you haven't met any spiders yet. I'm sure they are waiting to say Hi somewhere. Have you met the monkeys? They were all over the place in Roatan. Can't wait to talk to Erin next week. Let her know if there is anything special you would like us to bring for the last month. (Maybe Honey or a suitcase of food!!!)
Hugs to all of you!!
Marge
Man! I sure am thankful we have communication with you. I felt like you were sooo far away and that it would be forever before I heard from you. Thanking God you made it there safe and praying He keeps you that way. I know you are feeling God's presence all around you - cause He is! Wish we were there with you! Love seeing the pictures and hearing the updates. Keep them up. Love you and miss you!
