I've been delaying this post until I was able to upload pics... but I finally gave in.
There are SO many things here that I enjoy. New food, new adventures, and new friends.
The arrival of the Weber's was just on time. I was begining to be the only person in the Mills' family still enjoying this Island.
Here is where I wanted to put photos, but I'll just have to talk about it now and edit later.
Aside from the new foods we can make for dinner, I- being the fruitaholic that I am- have been LOVING all of the fruit here on the island. There are pinaples, watermelons, coconuts, papayas larger than our watermelons in the states, grapes, kiwis, apples, oranges, mangos, and..... new fruits! Some I don't know thier names. One is an awe-man... kind of dries your mouth out, like a lot of the fruit here, but I love it.
Pic will go here
Another is a sea-grape. These are only on the Cays. They are very tasty!
another pic here.
There are also some I haven't found the name to. They grow on a bush, are kind of squishy, also dry your mouth out but are strangly refreshing!
Pic here
Then there are these tiny little fruits. Green when not ripe, yet people still eat them, then a beautiful, tempting orange when ready. They taste like a mix between a mango, peach, and grape. I love them!
The last and most interesting is a Leechie... or somting like that. It taste great, similar to a coconut grape... but better, and the outside looks SO weird, it's stringy and red and green. SO cool
pic here./
The new adventure we went on as soon as the Weber's got here was the Cave.
Yes I wish I had pictures to illistrate.
After the hour walk to get there, we 13 girls were ready.... well most of us. Some... like stephanie, and lori.. cough cough, did not really want to crawl through the tiny entrance into the cave slowly following those placing candles to light our way. BUt after a while, they entered too. When we got to the end we could stand again... and with flashlights we saw water..... you know what happens when you see bats flying over a thin stream of water that was who knows how deep?.... well if your name is Leah, Kathryn, or Amanda.... you know that we must be the first three in, soon follwed by the others. THe water had a first burst of coldness but it soon became the most refreshing thing I had ever done. I can now say I swam in a candle lit cave on an Island. Cool.
The new friends I have met will be a pain to leave. Many have e-mail... others are going to get some, and still some will be snail mail friends. This week as we do a Bible club even more friends are being met. On Saturday we are showing the Jesus film at the church along with a graduation for the children and a meal. Leon, said if we came and watched his baseball game... he wanted to come.... we're going. So keep praying! I'm past my Internet time.. so I must leave.
Love Always,
Amanda... the true islander, who never wants to leave.
sorry.... spell check doesn't work today :p

Amanda---loved your post even if it was missing those long waited for pictures!!! We will try to be patient---good things are worth waiting for right?
Our mouths are watering with all of your exotic fruit descriptions. Are you going to bring home (if you come home---sounds like you really don't want to) samples? Or maybe you can't get them thru customs.
Loved the candlelight cave excursion story---those pictures will be exciting to see.
We are so thrilled to hear that you will showing the Jesus film. We will be praying for Leon. Did you mean that he will come to see the film IF you will come to his baseball game?
Praying and sending our love to all.
Aunt Becky and Uncle Ed
Great to hear your wonderful descriptions of your latest adventures on the island.
I read some of Weber's blog, didnt they mention spiders and also the bats? Yall are brave. You made some really cool memories.
I cant wait to hear the stories in person! (while sitting next to Uncle Ed and Aunt Becky !!) hope yall are still coming to TX.
Amanda, can you get seeds of all your favorite fruits so you can plant, grow and enjoy them at home?
Your VBS and Jesus film outreach is in our prayers along with Leon, that he will come to see the Jesus film and come to know God.
We love you all!
Love Deanna and Fam
